Sloppy Folk
Sloppy Folk is the collaboration between my friend Shaun from Contramundi and Mike, the guitarist of A.W.O.L. another South African punk band.
I'm really happy to see Shaun making music again, I was really excited to hear his new stuff because ContraMundi quickly became one of my favorites back when they joined. Sloppy Folk is a folk punk band(since you couldn't guess from the name!). Lyrically, they are pretty politically/socially charged, however some of the songs take a more introspective turn as well.
Musically, they have a lot going on which is cool. Some of the songs are less musically complex, while others have a lot of interesting instrumental parts. In short... they have variety, they play good music, and you should listen to it and tell them how much you love them.
